During the process of designing and weaving each tapestry, I attune to ancient sacred mysteries inherent in the weaver's path. The repetition of over and under, followed by under and over, meditatively connects me to Navajo, Mayan and Buddhist beliefs whereby weaving, or the union of warp or tantra, with weft or sutra, creates harmony.
The Navajo's believe that weaving transmits the energy of PEACE and to them, that energy describes the very essence of beauty. Throughout time Navajo weavers have chanted while they weave. The weaver's chant or mantra translates: "with me there is beauty, in me there is beauty, from me radiates beauty".
